Getting Married?

One of the best things about being a wedding photographer in Buffalo is how many amazing places there are for portraits. Whether you’re dreaming of something romantic in nature, a dramatic waterfront view, or a more urban and architectural feel, there’s a spot for you — and it’s usually just a short drive away.
Here are some of our favorite places for wedding and engagement photos around Buffalo, NY

🌲 Knox Farm State Park – East Aurora, NY

If you’re going for something timeless and naturally beautiful, Knox Farm is hard to beat. Between the tree-lined paths, rustic fences, rolling fields, and patches of tall wildflowers, it gives you that dreamy countryside feel without leaving town. Plus, the golden hour light here? Magic.

🌊 Hoyt Lake & Delaware Park – Buffalo, NY

This classic Buffalo location has it all: Dramatic staircase, reflections off the lake, stone balustrades, and seasonal blooms that make every shoot feel just a little different. We love starting at Hoyt Lake and wandering into Delaware Park — it’s perfect for couples who want a mix of elegant and relaxed photos in one spot.

🌳 The Old Growth Forest at Delaware Park

Tucked just beyond the more manicured parts of Delaware Park is this hidden gem — a peaceful stretch of old-growth trees and winding trails. It feels a little more secluded and quiet, with gorgeous filtered light that works beautifully for portraits. It’s a great option if you want something more earthy and organic, without leaving the city. It feels like you are in NYC as the tunnel is very similar to the one in Central Park!

🌿 Tifft Nature Preserve – Buffalo, NY

Tifft is a favorite for couples who love the outdoors. The tall grasses, calm waters, and wide open skies give this place a totally relaxed, slightly wild energy. You’ll get a little bit of everything here: nature, texture, and that perfect “let’s just go for a walk” kind of feel.

🏖️ Woodlawn Beach – Blasdell, NY

Beach portraits always feel romantic and dreamy, and Woodlawn Beach is one of our favorite local spots to make it happen. You get lake views, soft sand, and wide skies that glow at sunset — and it’s usually less crowded than you’d think. Pro tip: bring a change of shoes and let your feet sink in the sand for those relaxed, wind-in-your-hair shots.

🧱 Bonus: A Few More Buffalo Photo Spots

  • Cobblestone District: For something more urban and architectural. Brick, industrial textures, and city energy.
  • Buffalo Marina: Unique lakefront views with lots of space and interesting backdrops.
  • The Japanese Garden behind the Buffalo History Museum: Soft colors, beautiful symmetry, and a peaceful feel in the spring and fall. Very similar to Albright / Hoyt.
  • The Curtiss Hotel rooftop: Sleek and modern with city views if you’re looking for that upscale city look.
  • Marquee @ Sheas: The Theater district is a buffalo staple that everyone recognizes, timeless.
  • The Lion Wall: Timing is everything, but the wall can be a very cool spot to stop!
  • Bond Lake: Large open skies and grass, works great with smaller wedding parties!

💡 Choosing Your Perfect Spot

Think about the feel you want in your photos — natural and woodsy, romantic and elegant, urban and bold — and we can help match you with a location that fits. And if you have a spot that’s meaningful to you as a couple, even better. We’re always down to explore new places or revisit old favorites in a new way. We even have a super secret spot in the city! Shhhh… Just ask 🙂 We’ll tell you!
